About the Department

Community Health Nursing focuses on equipping nursing students with the knowledge, principles, and skills necessary to provide effective care to individuals, families, and communities. This program emphasizes preventive, promotive, and curative aspects of healthcare in various community settings.

Program Objectives

By the end of the Community Health Nursing course, students will be able to:

• Function efficiently as a community health nurse at various levels of the healthcare delivery system
• Apply principles of disease prevention and health promotion in community settings
• Plan and organize clinics and health programs at national and state levels
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals and families in the community
• Demonstrate competence in knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for community health nursing
• Accurately record and report vital health events occurring within families and communities
