Program Aim

The Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing program aims to prepare graduates as registered nurse specialists, educators, and administrators in diverse healthcare settings.

Program Objectives

Upon completion of the Mental Health Nursing program, students will be able to:

• Apply the nursing process in the care of patients with mental disorders in hospitals and communities.
• Demonstrate advanced skills and competence in managing patients with psychiatric conditions.
• Identify and manage psychiatric emergencies effectively.
• Perform crisis intervention to support patients in distress.
• Understand and appreciate the legal and ethical aspects of psychiatric nursing.
• Describe various alternative medicine approaches used in psychiatric settings.

This program ensures that nursing students are well-prepared to handle mental health challenges while promoting safe and effective psychiatric care practices.
